Junior League of Greater Orlando Race To End Childhood Hunger

Locals, here’s a kid-friendly Halloween party that will help end childhood hunger. Lace up your running shoes, put on your costume and come join the fun. Best part of all, canned food donations will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank!

5th Annual Harvest Hustle 5K
October 25, 2012 – 6:30 p.m.
Location: Baldwin Park (1838 Jake St, Orlando, FL)

The Harvest Hustle 5K is one of the fastest growing races in Orlando and will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 in Baldwin Park. Wear a costume, bring your Halloween spirit and get ready to enjoy a night of fun! The Harvest Hustle Halloween Party includes live entertainment, food, drinks, trick-or-treating, face painting and more. Funds raised will support the Junior League of Greater Orlando’s core cause of Childhood Health, Hunger and Poverty benefiting community programs in those areas.

Event Details: Get into the Halloween spirit and race in your costume! The race starts at 6:30 p.m. Join us before and after the race for the Harvest Hustle Halloween Party. Beginning at 5 p.m. there will be family-friendly activities including trick-or-treating, face painting, bounce houses, children’s activities, booths by local businesses with free giveaways, and much more. Immediately following the race the Harvest Hustle Halloween Party will continue with food, drinks, and live entertainment. Invite your friends to join you at the Harvest Hustle Halloween Party after the race! Remember to bring canned food items for the Second Harvest Food Bank. For every 5 cans of food donated, receive one free drink ticket!

About the JLGO: The Junior League of Greater Orlando (JLGO) is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The JLGO’s core cause is Childhood Health, Hunger and Poverty.

Entry Fee: Entry fees are nonrefundable. Credit cards accepted during online preregistration only. On race day cash or check are only accepted. Registration fee is $25 until October 24th. On race day, the fee increases to $30 (cash or check ONLY).

Location/Parking: Baldwin Park

Race entry fee includes: All entries will receive a t-shirt. Shirts or sizes are not guaranteed for registration after October 15.  Every runner over 21 years old will receive one free drink ticket with entry.  Drink tickets can be purchased in advance online at a discounted rate.  Drink tickets will be sold for $5 each on the day of the event.

Kids’ Fun Run: Children under 12 are encouraged to participate in the Kids’ Fun Run at 5:45 p.m. Register online. Entry includes a t-shirt and award. Cost of entry is $7.

Canned Food Drive:  Bring canned food donations to benefit The Second Harvest Food Bank. For every 5 canned food items you donate you will be eligible to receive one free drink ticket.

Restrictions: For safety reasons, bicycles, roller skates, in-line skates, and dogs will be prohibited from the race course.
