Halloween Swine Flu Tips

Halloween SwinesOur lives have been impacted by the H1N1 virus whether we are being more cautious and washing hands frequently or researching whether to get the vaccination. Regardless, our kids are about to participate in their favorite spooky day and we need to make sure we can keep it as germ free as possible. Here are a few tips for trick-or-treating:

  • Don’t let kids put their hands inside candy bowls (swine flu is spread by hands touching mouths, sneezing, and coughing).
  • Try to keep your kids from eating treats until you are home and able to scrub hands first.
  • Parents should bring along hand sanitizer and/or wipes to use before your child consumes candy or to sanitize hands after your child goes door-to-door.
  • If your child is sick, do not let them go trick-or-treating and spread germs. Also, the same goes for people planning to give out candy…if you do not feel well, do not turn your porch light on!

Have a safe, swine free, and Happy Halloween!
