Week 2 Update And #Medifast 5 & 1 Plan Overview & FAQ’s

I just concluded week 2 of my Medifast journey and happy to report I am down another 3.6 lbs (for a loss of 10.2 lbs in 2 weeks)! I have been active every single day. I tracked 10.8 miles walking but I’d say it was more like 15+ miles since I didn’t track while shopping at outlets or how far I walked while at Amalie Arena (for a hockey game).

This week I had to remind myself to eat, I haven’t been very hungry and sometimes just forget. I’ve been using MyWellness Dashboard faithfully and if it wasn’t for that, I would have missed a few meals. (This tool is explained below).

I conquered a big obstacle this week. My family made a day trip to watch a Tampa Bay Lightning game (NHL). I REALLY wanted a beer, but obviously alcohol is NOT an option. Instead, I had water and lots of it. I also walked around the entire arena several times before the game and during intermissions. The real challenge was trying to find my lean and green meal! I opted for chicken soft tacos and only ate the meat and veggies on top (no tortillas). I know it was most likely higher in sodium than tacos I’d make at home, but given the food choices it was definitely the best one.

I’m not going to lie, there were a few times I found myself really frustrated this week. I started breaking up my lean and green meal and that has helped. I’ve been enjoying an egg white vegetable omelet in the mornings then eating a smaller amount of protein in the evenings.




So here’s my breakdown so far:

Week 1: Down 6.6 lbs

Week 2: Down 3.6 lbs

TOTAL LOSS: 10.2 lbs (19.8 lbs to go)!

Will I get sick of eating the same foods?

Do I have to count calories, points, and/or carbs?

NO! Medifast is a simple plan to follow with no guesswork! All Medifast Meals have a similar nutritional profile and are interchangeable (except the Maintenance Bars; limit yourself to one per day while on the Medifast 5 & 1 Plan®).

Is there a resource to keep you organized while on Medifast?

I am a busy person, is Medifast a lot of work?

Obviously, Medifast takes dedication and focus. YOU must have the right mindset for success. I personally do not think it’s a lot of work since meals are portable (meals and are either ready to eat right out of the package or mix easily with water). It is a convenient weight-loss plan. Your lean and green meal can be prepared at home, you can opt for a Medifast Lean & Green Meals or you can order it in a restaurant (just follow the Medifast guidelines if you are going out to eat).

What happens after I hit my goal weight? How can I be successful at keeping it off?
