Day 21 of #30DaysOfCaring is all about Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. This foundation is a nonprofit fighting childhood cancer, one cup at a time.
Alexandra “Alex” Scott was born on January 18, 1996. She was the second of four kids in her family. When she was just a baby, she was diagnosed with a kind of cancer called neuroblastoma. When Alex was 4 years old, she decided to hold a lemonade stand to raise money for her hospital, so the doctors could help other kids with cancer. She asked other people to help by holding their own stands too.
Alex’s legacy lives on through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
Mission: To raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily research into new treatments and cures. To encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer.
