Back-To-School Tax-Free Shopping At Orlando-Area Malls

TAX-FREE SHOPPING AT ORLANDO-AREA MALLS
Shoppers invited to take advantage of extended hours and back-to-school specials

The Orlando-area community is invited to The Florida Mall, Seminole Towne Center and Waterford Lakes Town Center for tax-free weekend and fun, family events to kick-off the school year.

The Florida Mall, Seminole Towne Center and Waterford Lakes Town Center are pleased to offer shoppers the opportunity to purchase back-to-school necessities without paying sales tax on qualifying items during tax-free weekend in accordance with the Florida Sales Tax Holiday. The 3-day sales tax break begins on Friday, August 1 and ends on Sunday, August 3. During this period, retailers will not be required to collect state and local sales use tax on most footwear, clothing, backpacks and school supplies priced less than $100.

During tax-free weekend, area-families are invited to the Simon Kidgits Club Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 2 from 1 – 3 p.m. in Macy’s Court. Kidgits members will have the opportunity to get a jumpstart on learning at the science discovery stations and other demonstration stations. There will also be exciting Back to School giveaways!

Additionally, shopping will be quite a delight as live jazz music fills the mall’s Center Court on Friday, August 1 from 5 – 8 p.m. and Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3 from 2 – 5 p.m. Families can also enjoy roaming balloon artists and stilt walkers who will be surprising and delighting our customers with various back to school items.

Before hitting the mall, shoppers can check out even more savings by visiting the Simon Retailer Showcase where coupons and other retailer deals await at simon.com.

During the weekend, The Florida Mall will be offering a complimentary package check, which services customers at every end of the mall, as well as a complimentary shopper shuttle, operating during mall hours, for easy customer access during this busy time.

Seminole Towne Center
Beginning Friday, August 1, the Simon Scholars School Reward program will kick off, giving shoppers the opportunity to receive 1 point for every $1 spent at Seminole Towne Center. This year, there are 17 participating schools and the top 3 schools at the end of the program, in November, will win cash prizes.

Additionally, Simon Kidgits Club members are invited to the Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 2 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. in Center Court. Guests will enjoy festive back to school activities and great giveaways.

Waterford Lakes Town Center
On Saturday, August 2 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., shoppers who sign up to become a Mall Insider at the Property Management Office located near Old Navy, will be entered for a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree, as well as a “surprise and delight” gift courtesy of Waterford Lakes Town Center.
