Check Out Frosty The Snowman At Gaylord Palms ICE #GPIce

Disclosure: My family attended a media sneak peek of ICE, no additional compensation was received.

Start a holiday tradition and and visit ICE at the Gaylord Palms! I cannot say enough positive comments about this experience, it is simply awesome! The theme this year is Frosty The Snowman, so kids of all ages will recognize scenes from the classic cartoon. Here’s the kicker though, you are walking in a 9 degree winter wonderland. Gaylord Palms provides a warm parka for guests, but I HIGHLY recommend you wear socks and bring along hats, gloves and scarves…it’s 9 degrees and to Floridians that is SERIOUSLY frigid!

We make a big deal out of Frosty The Snowman, it’s a Christmas tradition to grab some popcorn and watch the cartoon together as a family. I still get tears when Frosty melts.

Signs say do not touch or lick the ice, but you can walk through an ice tunnel and enjoy ice slides! The slides are always my son’s favorite!

Here’s a quick video of my little guy having fun.

I am always amazed at the time, effort and detail it takes for ICE to come to life. This year was no exception. 2 million pounds of ice, sculpted and transformed. I witnessed the artisans working first-hand inside Frostbite Factory and after 3 years of visiting ICE, it finally hit me…these guys are working in 9 degree temperatures to create these amazing Frosty sculptures! I have a hard enough time staying inside the exhibit for a few minutes, so I cannot imagine using power tools and sculpting ice! For additional information about the artisans and how ICE is created, visit here.

An ice sculpted nativity scene ends the ICE journey, it’s absolutely beautiful.

Afterwards, thaw out with some hot cocoa and enjoy the additional family activities! Capture holiday memories, there are so many photo opportunities! Meet Santa, build gingerbread houses with Gingy and feel the warmth of the holiday season!

Make sure to enjoy the spectacular live entertainment on the Emerald Plaza stage in the St. Augustine atrium. From the singing to the scenery, The Luminescence show is beautiful! Witness the famous 54-foot-tall majestic Christmas tree come to life in a magnificent tree-lighting ceremony! You will be captivated by the millions of twinkling lights and beautiful decor!
