My son had his first school field trip this week and I went as a chaperon. We saw The Nutcracker performed at The Plaza Live. It was a shortened version so the preschoolers wouldn’t get too restless. The ballet was beautiful, but my son kept asking where the bad guys were and why the characters didn’t talk.
Afterwards he said “ballets are for girls, mommy“. But, he was really excited when we purchased two nutcracker ornaments for our Christmas tree. YEARS from now when he is on his own he can take one for his tree and I will keep one. We will both remember the fun we had together at his first field trip.
