Feeding America – Unilever Cross Off Hunger Campaign #BetterTogether #Cbias

As Thanksgiving quickly approaches, we are busy making holiday plans with loved ones.  I sat down last night to discuss turkey day menu options with my family. Excitement is filling the air as we count down the days, unfortunately there are many that do not have this opportunity. Hunger is a major problem in our country and we MUST do something about it!

Have you heard of Unilever? I am excited to introduce Unilever and tell more about their initiatives.

Unilever is committed to donating more than two million meals to families in need with Feeding America and every item on your shopping list counts.  Show your support by adding Unilever brands to your cart next time you shop.  Together we can help to Cross Off Hunger.

Unilever’s involvement with Feeding America is part of their sustainable living goal to help one billion people improve their health and well-being. The Unilever Sustainable Living Plan is a road map to achieve the following three goals and attain the ultimate goal of growing their business sustainably.

1. Improve people’s health and well-being

2. Reducing environmental impact

3. Enhance livelihoods

Consumers can help support Unilever’s initiatives by purchasing Unilever products! Most likely, you already use Unilever products regularly and do not even know it. Actually, two billion times a day, consumers around the world use Unilever products!

Some of Unilever’s well-loved brands consist of: Axe, Ben&Jerry’s, Bertolli, Dove, CountryCrock, Klondike, Q-tips, Noxzema, Ragu, St. Ives, Lipton, Skippy, Degree, Breyers, Suave, TRESemme, Nexus, Ponds, etc. Many of these are already in my kitchen and bathroom, but next time I shop I will pay more attention and continue supporting this amazing initiative.

There are 202 Feeding America Food Banks. By liking the Making Life Better Facebook page, you will learn more about the hunger crisis and the Cross Off Hunger Check List. There are several sections to educate yourself about food banks and the role they play, top 10 food bank needs, test your hunger I.Q., and locate your local Feeding America food bank and find out how you can contribute. Also, you will earn a “hunger badge” for each completed section indicating you have the knowledge to make a difference! Our local food bank makes a tremendous impact in our community, so Unilever and their commitment to Cross Off Hunger has my support.

I have spent a lot of time in downtown Orlando and witnessed first-hand homeless people digging through garbage cans trying to find a scrap of food. I am no stranger when it comes to donations and helping those less fortunate, if you have followed my blog you know I have donated food, clothing, money, school supplies, sports equipment, medicines, etc. to assist local charities. In addition, I have volunteered my time and energy to raise awareness for local food banks and charities, letting locals know what is needed and how they can help. The reality is, Orlando is not the only city suffering, this is happening throughout America! By taking small actions, we can make a difference in the world!

I plan on using my new knowledge and supporting Unilever on my next shopping trip! I am happy to purchase brands that support hunger campaigns and sustainability  Stay tuned, because I will post an update soon sharing my Unilever shopping experience, what I purchase, how my family supports the initiatives and little things we do to make a difference.
