INTUIT INC. QuickBooks Phishing Alert

I received the following scam email recently and wanted to warn others! I do not have an account with this company and it all seems VERY fishy. Obviously, I did not click the link (and disabled it when sharing on my blog)!

As for the phishing email, here are the details:

FROM:  INTUIT INC. <update@quickbooks.com>

SUBJECT: Important! Update your tax information!.

Dear Account Holder,

With intent to guarantee that correct information is being maintained on our systems, and to be able to grant you better quality of service; INTUIT INC. has partaken in the Internal Revenue Service [IRS] Name and TIN Matching Program.

It appears that your name and/or Taxpayer Identification Number, that is specified on your account does not match the information on file with the Social Security Administration.

In order to review the information on your account, please click here (link was disabled).

Yours sincerely,
INTUIT INC.

**The OFFICIAL INTUIT page confirmed this is indeed a phishing email that was NOT sent from the company! Here is the official message (click here, this link is legit)!

Remember, always do research before clicking on email links asking for you to make updates to an account. Usually a quick google search is all that is necessary! Be safe!
