My son loves to make animal noises, he puts so much thought and emotion into them! I can remember driving and out of no where he let out this horse noise. My husband and I looked at each other and wondered where he learned it from, there was no way we could even begin to sound that real! We were quite impressed to say the least.

At the beginning of the year, my family moved. Where we are located now, there are a lot of stray cats roaming around (don’t even get me started on irresponsible pet ownership, my heart aches for these cats). Most are very friendly, but they annoy me and especially my dog. I do not like the fact they lounge all over my back deck and urinate on my herbs! I hiss at them to scare them off…(yes, you already know where this is going).

We went to Toddler Time at our local library and the story being read out loud was about a cat. The story teller asked “do you know what sound a cat makes” and my son started hissing. I was mortified to say the least. All the other children were meowing, but not my kid.

Now regardless of where we are or what we’re doing, whenever he sees a cat he hisses. I have tried to teach him that a cat meows, but he wants nothing to do with that noise.

I guess I should be careful what else I say or do because obviously, he is absorbing it all!

Note: I wish I could take credit for this awesome lego cat birdhouse, but the photo belongs to Brick Player.
