Clearwater Marine Aquarium has broken several attendance records as 2014 drew to a close. The marine rescue center recorded its highest ever daily attendance on December 30 with 6,654 visitors. The previous day saw a total of 6,046 guests walk through the doors, listing December 29-30 as a 92% increase over the same dates in 2013. Clearwater Marine Aquarium Rehabilitates and Releases Green Sea Turtle, Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg, a juvenile green sea turtle, was found covered in sand on the beach in Duval County January 10, 2014. Shortly after his rescue, Snoop was transferred to Clearwater Marine Aquarium from Volusia Marine Science Center. Snoop Dogg was admitted into Clearwater Marine Aquarium ICU due to wounds on his shell consistent with a predator attack and fibropapilloma tumors growing around the base of his front and rear flippers. Clearwater Marine Aquarium Receives $75,000 Grant from Duke Energy Foundation Supporting the Sea Turtle Program   Clearwater Marine Aquarium has received a $75,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation for the Sea Turtle Rescue, Rehabilitation and Release Program.  The funding will be utilized to enhance Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s capacity to rehabilitate sea turtles that are sick or injured and also help protect the endangered and threatened species through education of environmental stewardship.
