If you have been a regular blog follower, my son’s love for Winter and the animals at Clearwater Marine Aquarium is something you already know about (for a reminder click here, here, and here). Ever since watching Dolphin Tale, he has felt a strong connection to Winter.
Today, we had the opportunity to visit Dave & Buster’s for some fun! We started off watching a portion of the documentary “Winter The Dolphin That Can” which made me blink back tears. This documentary shows footage of Winter’s actual rescue as well as the trials she faced after losing her tail, learning to swim without it and then adapting to swimming with a prosthetic tail. She defeat ALL odds and is an inspiration to many.
We also watched an extended trailer for Dolphin Tale 2 (the movie releases September 12, 2014). The sequel is a continuation of Winter’s life and will introduce her new best friend, Hope.
We then met David Yates (CEO of Clearwater Marine Aquarium) and visited with a few stars from Dolphin Tale and Dolphin Tale 2, Nathan Gamble and Cozi Zuehlsdorff (aka Sawyer and Hazel).
Nathan and Cozi are so sweet and down to earth. We listened to them talk about their family life, auditioning for their roles, what life was like on set, and all about their experience with Dolphin Tale and Dolphin Tale 2. It is quite evident that they are extremely close pals (just like Winter and Hope)!
Afterwards, we had some video game fun! A very special thanks to Dave & Buster’s in Orlando and Clearwater Marine Aquarium for holding this event!
