A smile creates a lasting impression, so it’s imperative to always have a happy and healthy mouth. When I think of a happy mouth, I envision a clean mouth with white teeth, healthy gums and fresh breath. Let’s be honest, discolored teeth can hinder our ability to share our best smile (and yes, I am including myself in that statement). I am a coffee and a red wine drinker, both of these indulgences are tough on my teeth. I’m starting a two-week regimen with Colgate Total Advance products to achieve a happy & healthier mouth and smile.
I have contemplated professional teeth whitening through my dentist office, but the cost is outrageous and I am concerned with the products they use. I noticed kiosks set up in local malls that offer whitening at a fraction of the cost, but how safe can that possibly be? Also, I have extremely sensitive teeth so whitening products are not recommended. I was happy to see that Colgate Total Advance offers a variety of products and does not strictly focus on whitening, but on an overall healthy mouth.
My Colgate Total Advance tools consist of:
- Colgate Total 360 Toothbrush – expert plaque removal and designed with dental professionals. Massaging fingers gently stimulate gums, fan-shaped bristles provide interdental cleaning, pro tip design helps clean hard-to-reach places.
- Total Advanced Deep Clean Toothpaste – fight germs for 12 hours and helps prevent plaque, gingivitis, tartar build-up, cavities and bad breath.
- Total Advance Mouthwash – kills germs on contact and keeps working for 12 hours, even after eating and drinking. It also kills 99% of germs, significantly reduces plaque, helps prevent gingivitis, has no burn of alcohol and freshens breath.
I was able to use my Walgreens Balance Rewards Card for this purchase and received a $2 printout at the register to use on my next purchase! I also saved $6.

I also plan on involving my 5 year old son. While he’s too young to use these Colgate products, he can benefit from practicing healthy oral hygiene habits. While at Walgreens, he picked out toothpaste and a toothbrush so he can also participate. I have found when he is involved in the decision making process, it makes brushing much more fun.
I have already taken my “before” photo and I am not happy with the discoloration I see. After this two week challenge, I will share a comparative photo via Instagram on July 1st showing my happy and healthy smile results, so stay tuned!
JULY 1, UPDATE! After using Colgate Total Advance for 2 weeks, I am excited to share my results! I did not opt for the whitening toothpaste, yet look how the products cleansed my teeth. Also, my mouth feels so clean and happy! I even wake up in the mornings feeling much fresher (the mouthwash works for 12 hours)!
Here is the photo proof (you can also view it on Instagram)!
