Mother’s Day is right around the corner, so it’s time to start thinking about a gift for that very special lady in your life. Whether it’s your mom, a close relative, an in-law, a loved one, or a special friend, Mother’s Day is the time to let them know how much you love and appreciate them.
That “special lady” in my life is my mother, she means the world to me. Mom taught me life lessons which helped mold me into the person (and mother) I am today, and for that I could never thank her enough. Her heart is enormous, she is caring and compassionate. My mom has always been there for me and I feel extremely fortunate to have her in my life as my mom AND my friend. She is also the most amazing grandmother, my son adores his Maw Maw! I only wish we lived closer so I could hand deliver her gift and spend the day pampering her.
During a recent visit, she made a comment about something she’d like and I took note! I never know what to buy her (she has everything) but this year I didn’t have to opt for the usual flowers, candy or gift certificate. Instead, I headed to Kohl’s to find her a beautiful watch within my budget of $100.
Prior to visiting my local Kohl’s store, I checked out their online Mother’s Day Gift Shop. It’s a handy guide that allowed me to view their recommended gifts. Watches was one of the main categories, so I was able to search my price range to see options. Also, I had a few coupons to use, so I knew I could choose a pricier watch since I would be saving money.
When I arrived at Kohl’s, I went straight to the jewelry counter. There were Mother’s Day signs all around reminding shoppers that Mother’s Day is May 12th (and jewelry is a wonderful present)! I viewed the various cases until I found a two-toned watch that I thought would be perfect. I narrowed down the selection to two Pulsar watches, but in the end I selected the more feminine one with Swarovski crystals. It seemed more versatile, she’d feel comfortable wearing it casually and when she dresses up.
The suggested retail was $150, but it was on sale for $112.50. As I mentioned earlier, I had a handful of coupons! I was able to use a $10 email coupon as well as a 20% off coupon from a mailer. Once those were applied, my grand total was $86.92! I saved $68 on my mom’s gift AND I received $10 in Kohl’s cash to return and shop!
My mom lives 1000 miles away, but she has a Kohl’s store in her town (and shops there frequently). The Kohl’s employee who assisted me included a gift receipt so mom could exchange the watch at her local Kohl’s if necessary, take it in for link removal, battery, etc. How convenient! I’ll make sure my mom has the gift receipt just in case!
I knew I’d find the perfect gift for my mom at Kohl’s, best part of all I was able to select something with a heftier price tag thanks to sale prices coupled with coupons! Also, the Kohl’s employee let me scratch off two additional savings cards and said if the discount was more than 20% (my current coupon), then she’d let me use the highest discount! I only scratched off 15%, but I appreciate that she let me try! Now that is customer service!
After I made my purchase, I decided to look around a little more. I have $10 in Kohl’s cash to use, so I’ll probably go back and grab mom a few additional goodies. Below are photos of merchandise that caught my eye!
From home goods, clothing, fragrances, health and beauty, hand bags and accessories, Kohl’s has you covered for Mother’s Day! Plus, it seemed like everything in the store was on sale! Grab your coupons and go shopping, I want to know how much you save!
