Our Family Tradition: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2012

Our Family Tradition: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2012

My family experienced Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) at the Magic Kingdom theme park for the third year in a row. During the months of November and December, it is not only the Happiest place on Earth but also the most Enchanted place on Earth! I don’t know where to begin, because every aspect of the party is amazing and I do not want to leave anything out.

First and foremost, Cinderella’s castle is gorgeous adorned with enchanted Castle dream lights. Disney leaves no details out, from the window displays to snow falling on Main Street USA, characters dressed in holiday attire, live entertainment, character meet and greets, Christmas music, a special holiday parade featuring the big guy (Santa Claus) himself, complimentary hot cocoa and cookies (apple juice and apple slices, too), and a fireworks show that brings tears to your eyes…this party has it ALL!

I’m not joking about the fireworks bringing tears, Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season is truly that spectacular and set to favorite Christmas carols! In my opinion, the fireworks alone are worth the admission price, they are that amazing! As I watched them, my heart felt warm and filled with love. I am so glad MVMCP is part of my family’s holiday traditions!

Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade is wonderful, too. My little guy was excited to not only see Disney characters dressed in holiday attire, but also Santa Claus! Unfortunately, all my parade photos turned out blurry this year.

We then visited Town Hall to see Mickey and Minnie. As we walked down Main Street USA, the snow falling was magical. My son wanted to build a snowman, but I explained we’d need a lot more snow.

The event was sold out on the night we attended; however, the park didn’t feel overly crowded. We were able to jump on our favorite rides with less than 5 minute wait times (definitely shorter than usual lines). Also, we had the opportunity to experience the dress rehearsal for the New Fantasyland. This expansion was well worth the wait, and I cannot wait to experience more!

Here’s my son with his favorite Disney pals. It’s crazy to compare photos each year to see how much he has grown.

My husband and I jumped in for a photo, too.

All in all, if you want a Christmas experience where your family will make memories that last a lifetime, then THIS is the party for you! My son woke the next morning and the first thing out of his mouth was “thank you mommy for taking me to Mickey’s Party, I had so much fun.” How sweet is that?!?! I don’t think he stopped smiling the entire time we were there!

For more information and to purchase advance tickets (which are highly recommended since this event does sell out), visit here. MVMCP is held from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight on select nights.

* I received a media invitation; however, all opinions are my own. We love MVMCP!
