Medifast On The Go Foods Fit My Lifestyle: Week 15 Update

Crazy busy, that’s been my life lately. One thing that has been constant is Medifast! Thanks to their “on the go” meals, I am always prepared if and when hunger knocks. I do not allow myself to be starving without having a Medifast meal close-by!

A few evenings, I found myself strapped for time so my family hit fast food. Did I stress? Not at all! I can order a lean and green meal pretty much anywhere, it just takes a little more discipline and menu studying. At Chick-Fil-A, I ordered the Chargrilled Chicken Garden Salad with lite Italian dressing. It was tasty, but I do not think it had enough vegetables (so that night, I snacked on a few more pieces of celery and peppers). Another evening, we hit Chipotle. I created a Fajita Bowl (without rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, etc.). On top of my grilled peppers and onions, I added grilled chicken, one scoop of mild salsa, asked for diced tomatoes (they keep these separately packaged in a to-go container), lettuce and a sprinkle of shredded cheese. This meal had so much flavor and was so filling!

Through my 15 week journey, I have learned that I can make smarter decisions! As long as I am prepared, I will NOT grab just anything. And, if I do visit a food truck and have a bite or two of something that isn’t the healthiest choice, it is not the end of the world. It’s all about moderation. I understand the importance of exercise (last week I ran 16 miles and walked 10 miles), portion control, drinking enough water and recognizing my food triggers (am I really hungry or just stressed out)?

I am currently obsessed with Medifast chocolate chip pancakes and syrup. They are so delicious and I’ve been eating one every morning!

My weight remained the same this week. At this point, I am so close to transitioning into maintenance mode. I don’t think I am hitting a plateau, I honestly think my body is at the point where there isn’t a lot of extra fat to burn off. I have also been doing a lot of strength training exercises which is building lean muscle.
