2011 Race For The Cure: Blisters For Becky

2011 Race For The Cure: Blisters For Becky

A local friend’s mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She has since had a double mastectomy and thought she was on the road to healing. A routine visit with her doctor yesterday delivered some bad news she was not expecting. You can follow Becky’s journey and learn more at “Boobs in a Vise“.

According to the Susan G. Komen site, in the year 2011 it is estimated that among U.S. women:

  • There will be 230,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer (includes new cases of primary breast cancer among survivors, but not recurrence of original breast cancer among survivors).
  • There will be 39,520 breast cancer deaths.

What can we do to help women like Becky? We can show our support by joining forces with the Susan G. Komen foundation! You can join Becky’s walking team, donate and/or keep her in your prayers!

If you are in Central Florida, please consider joining team “Blisters For Becky“. The event details are as follows:

  1. Great cause and so glad you’ll be out there. I’ll be there volunteering like I have for the past 6 years. Maybe I’ll get to meet you? All the best to Becky, I’m sorry she got bad news.

  2. I hope we do have the opportunity to meet, that’d be great. What a wonderful cause to volunteer for!

  3. I will be working at the Information table, come by! 🙂
