The stomach bug hit our family and it has not been pleasant. 7 out of 7 from our Thanksgiving gathering had one strand or another. Some had mild cases, others (like my son) had a much worse case that made life miserable for almost a week. I can now add “puke cleaner” to my resume, because I got a LOT of experience with it!
My pediatrician recommended the BRAT diet (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast) and told us to cut dairy out completely. She also informed us to supplement with Pedialyte or Gatorade (50% Gatorade, 50% water) until he started feeling better. Since my local Publix didn’t carry Pedialyte, we opted for Gatorade. That seemed to help tremendously. Just wanted to pass this information along to anyone suffering from this horrible bug!
