Countertop Thief

When my golden retriever was a puppy, I always worried about her jumping up on my countertops and pulling food down. Thankfully, that never happened! Now, my son on the other hand, well that’s a whole different story! He is constantly standing on his tippy toes and grabbing whatever is within reach. I have to be very careful because he pulls everything down (plates, food, cups, paper, dish towels, phones, ipods, etc.). For some reason, the word “no” doesn’t have any impact either!

Would it be cruel to place a plastic cup filled with water on top of the counter and let him pull it down? My guess is that he’ll learn a valuable lesson!

  1. I just realized today that Eddie can reach up to “normal” table heights. We bought a high top dinner table right after he was born, and I never thought about how lovely that would be with his little reaching toddler hands. Today on the patio I found out when he reached, and surprised he could, pulled down a GLASS of water. AHHH!!!!
