Non-paying eBay Buyer

You made an eBay sale, or so you thought. After a few days of waiting you realize the high bidder has not paid. What should you do?

First, make sure you attempted to communicate with the buyer. If that was unsuccessful, your next step is to contact theĀ Resolution Center for assistance. Click here for more instructions on what to do when a buyer doesn’t pay.

Once you are reimbursed for your fees, you can relist the item or send a second chance offer if you had multiple bids in the original auction.

To learn how to automate your settings so eBay’s unpaid item assistant completes the process for you, check out this quick video.

In the past, I have dealt with non-paying buyers. It used to be a frustrating, manual process that took nearly 2 weeks to complete. If the seller neglected to go back into the case and close it after a 7 day wait period, then fees were not reimbursed. Thankfully eBay has listened and improved the process! Also, as the video indicates, I require buyers to pay immediately via PayPal for all fixed price items and have not had a problem since. Good luck!
